Just a short walk from the road, yet completely hidden from view; like so many of life’s treasures, right there, so close and yet hidden and lost to us. Strong and defiant the lone stand of trees, forever disconnected from the rest of the world as the icy mountain water rushes by and around. A favoured place for photographers, it was difficult to find a spot to frame my shot without obstruction or obstructing another. Once set, it’s hard to notice anyone else is even there; you just kind of get lost in the sound of the water, the beauty of the scene.

Nature speaks to life; I think at times we all feel alone, disconnected in the world, cut off in every direction. Yet through perseverance and the support of those that love us we continue to reach higher much like this lone stand of trees with the support and aid of the sun.
