How I generated Killer Leads in less than an hour

fb_leads_postHow I generated over 200 prospects, 67 emails and 6 potential clients in less than an hour (and you can too!)

In fact some of you reading this post may be within that group of prospects. With that being said don’t feel duped, jaded or tricked into sales scheme because that is entirely not the case. The point is this whole experience was a test to just see what would happen, and it was based on two things that I have learned to be universal:

  1. We learn best from others, so communicate with as many like minded people as you can and you will learn far more than you already know.
  2. Sincerity goes a long way, the more you give the more you receive. I am determined to have an impact on our industry, it’s given me a lot now I hope to give to you. (There was far less apprehension than I expected this really seemed to resonate well with many people I contacted which is completely awesome!)

If you don’t take anything else from this post remember these two things alone will be invaluable.

Anyways, how did I generate 200 prospects, 67 emails and 6 potential clients in less than an hour?

Well it was easy, I used a few creative searches on Facebook to find people within the demographic of personal training I was looking for. What I didn’t expect was the incredible email response of how many people were interested in building a network that could truly benefit each other. The other thing I didn’t expect were the few messages I received like this:

“Funny you should contact me now, I have been aware of your company (One-to-1 Fitness) and have been thinking about coming in to check you out. This just might have been the push I needed!”

Now how much would 3-6 new clients committing to personal training an average of 3 days per week for 6-12 months be worth to you? Would it be worth an hour of the time I know you’re going to spend on Facebook anyways?

Now the reason I suspect this happened like it did for us is we are fairly visible in that we do a number of forms of low cost advertising, so my friend request was just that one little extra reminder that kind of made it more personal. But even as a new trainer this is a really great way to begin building credibility in your market.

Because Facebook is so personal, and casual it provides a more personal touch to your communication. Use your status updates to direct your new friends to your latest blog post, or great piece of fitness news you found. The more interaction you have with these people that is casual and sincere the more likely they will make the eventual transition of suspect, to prospect, to customer.  (Ok I would love to take credit for that suspect and prospect thing, but truth is those are words that resonated from my own business coach, even trainers need coaches.)
